3 new residential schools will be open early this year. They are SMS Rembau, SMS Tapah and SMS Bagan Dato. These schools will be also offering Japanese as one of the compulsory electives and I understand that the Japanese language teachers have already been posted there. 開校するため、いろいろ大変だと思いますが、頑張ってください。もし、日本語教材が必要だったら、JFKLに依頼書を出してください。
Thus, the total number of public secondary schools offering international languages as a compulsory or optional elective is as follows:-
Japanese : 78 schools - RS:48 / DS 30
French: 38 schools - RS:32/ DS 6
German: 24 schools - RS:18/ DS 6
I was told that more day schools offering Japanese will be opened in April when the 10 Japan-graduate teachers return to Malaysia upon their graduation end of March 2010.
